ONE MONTH!!!

The final countdown has started!!! Officially ONE MONTH until the big day!! I will admit the stress level has risen quite a bit, but I am trying my best to stay calm and collected!

We have finished up all the DYI (do it yourself) projects and have packed all wedding related things into their boxes safe and sound.  Sunday Bruce and I will be packing the car to the rim and I will be leaving bright and early Monday morning for the long 24 hour haul back to Michigan.  This is the first time I am making this trip driving all by myself, I am a tad bit nervous! But my plan is to load up on caffeine (I never really have caffeine, so the affects are quite funny) and drive straight through to arrive at my soon-to-be mother-in-laws, Rosie's house in Grand Rapids Michigan (20hrs).  Bruce could only get so much time off from his new job and this has to be done, so BRING IT ON!!

Pudge and I plan on passing out immediately and sleeping for about 6 or 7 hours.  Then Grandpa Brown will be driving over from Fountain to pick up Pudge for a fun filled day and night at the cabin with his GF Jane! Rosie and I will finish up shopping for a few odds and ends and then I will hit the road again to drive to Detroit to meet the girls

GO TIGERS!!!! The girls and I will be attending a Tigers game and having a fun night out on the town in Detroit! :) :) Wednesday I will drive back through Grand Rapids and pick up the car load and Pudge to finish the last part of the trip to the SOO!

Here are a few of the exciting events this month! CAN'T WAIT!!!!

What will a girl do for the perfect shoes?!?!

Let me start off by saying thank goodness for a patient and understanding fiance'! About 4 or 5 years ago I broke my right foot pretty badly (Don't ask how!!).  I have had three surgeries and lets just say that my right foot is a TAD bit larger than my other, so good heels come few and far between!

Back in April I stumbled upon a sale at DSW and found the perfect open toed nude pump and fell in LOVE! I didn't even want to risk trying them on, but did anyway.......AND THEY FIT!!! It was an amazing find for me, so simple and small to everyone else, but great for me! So I bought them and wore them at my bridal shower and was able to wear these gorgeous 4 inch heels all evening! So when i finally found my rehearsal dinner dress I needed black heels. I went straight to dsw.com and found the exact nude heel that i had bought a few months earlier but in black! PERFECT!

But then I found out they were sold out! Bummer! So i went on a hunt! I called all the DSW's in the surrounding areas and even in MI near my soon to be mother-in-laws.......but still coming  up with nothing! I was so sad! But then the DSW store from Colorado Springs answered with good news! They had randomly found one pair my size in a box that wasn't their own! The lady said she'd hold them for a few hours...so yes I woke Bruce up at 3 and asked if we could drive the 45 minutes to get these shoes! He just laughed and began to get ready.....God do I love that man!

So we drove 45 minutes there and back for my perfect 4 inch black peep toe pumps.....my triumphant return to heels feels amazing! And these heels are exactly what I wanted and needed!

THANK YOU DSW & my very understanding fiance'! ;)

Hope your weekend is going well!

Love,
Nic & Bruce xo

STRESS OVERLOAD!!

So I am coming to vent....yes I said vent! I know I know, not an attractive way to start a blog post, but I just have to!

OVERWHELMED doesn't even begin to describe what I am feeling! I thought I was so well organized and a head of the game that this would not happen to me, BUT I was sadly mistaken.  I know everything will turn out great, and even if it doesn't I am still getting to marry the best man there is, but geesh......  I just want to get home to MI and get things organized.  I am an organizing freak and when I can't be completely organized I am flustered!

I am lucky enough to have an amazing support group though.  I know everything will get done and done well, it's just the wait game that is getting to me now.  We are ordering the odds and ends in the next few weeks and paying the rest of the bills, which feel amazing.  But everything sits in boxes, some stuff not yet put together, here in CO and it is driving me IN SANE! I have so much to do but feel so helpless right now because I am  unable to work on anything else until I get home to MI! BUT I am trying to make myself chill out and relax.

Main goal until I am home to Michigan.....RELAX and only worry about what I can.....WISH ME LUCK! :)

FREEDOM!! :)

WE DID IT!!! We finally put everything aside and got out into the wilderness! Our first weekend free of chores and anything to do with wedding planning (we love planning our wedding but get so exhausted :).  We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, but came home with some very sore legs, bottoms, and feet!

Saturday and Sunday I did the usual....Farmers market, cleaning, and grocery shopping.  But Bruce and I were able to enjoy some delicious dinners together at night before he went to work.

Monday when Bruce woke up we headed to Pueblo.  We went to Sam's Club and picked up a few things for the week.  Stopped at Pet Co to get Pudge groomed.  We usually like to get Pudge groomed locally (as we would much rather give our money to anything local..) But when we called to get a an appointment she was booked until August 16th.  YIKES, guess that's why we usually should book our next appointment at the end of  our appointments. BUT with all that said we went to Pet Co and were pleasantly surprised!!! We had a VERY nice woman and she was so kind to Pudge! And they had an adorable and very affordable "treat bar" and that was fun! Then we stopped at Dress Barn, just to look....BUT of course I tried on and found the perfect rehearsal dinner dress (OK OK we did one wedding related activity this weekend). Then we went and had a delicious lunch at Chipotle..YUM! Bruce got his usual fav, steak fajita burrito, and I got mine, chicken fajita salad bowl.  We ended the day with packing for our adventure and watching TV in bed.

We were at the trail by 8:30....it was the BEST day to go.  It had a 30% chance of rain (in CO that means maybe a sprinkle but not a down pour) which made for some wonderful clouds rolling through to give us some much needed  shade from the sun. The hike was hard, to say the least, but it felt great! Bruce had tp push me the last half mile of the 3 miles, but I am glad he did! It was pretty much all up hill (i know i know, u r thinking 'yah right' but it was!) and that made for a more difficult return if you can believe it.  Sure it's hard to hike up and up and up but when u are exhausted and ready to head back going down such steep trails proves to be much harder.  Our legs were DEAD and having to stop yourself from free falling was HARD! I only biffed it twice! :) Pudge, who usually HAS TO lead, slowed down on the way back and chose to walk in the middle of us. We headed home showered, and headed out for pizza.  We decided we deserved it! We ate came home and shut down the house and all three of us passed out almost immediately!

All in all it was a WONDERFUL weekend and a much needed break from life!

We will leave you with some photos! Hope you all had a GREAT weekend!

Love,
Bruce, Nichole, and Pudge xoxo

Weekend BLISS!

This weekend is solely dedicated to relaxing and doing anything and everything fun! We want, and desperately NEED a break from anything and everything wedding related! We have gotten a ton done these last few weeks and now feel we deserve a much needed break! So this weekend is going to be full of having fun with each other and enjoying the time we have left of the summer before I leave for home in 3 weeks.

So I am currently looking for a great place to go for a hike! We have been dying to go for a hike, but have always had something that NEEDED to get done, but this is the weekend we sweep it all under the rug and go for that hike! We so enjoy hiking and the outdoors the most out of anything and we can't wait to get out there! (Pudge can't wait either, it's his favorite too) I will post pictures later on next week from our adventures this weekend!

Also Bruce got one of his wedding gifts a tad bit early and it was so wonderful to see him so excited! He is the type of man that would never ever go and spend a ton of money on himself, EVER! So I decided to save for a while and get him his dream TV! Originally I had planned to have it delivered while we were away for the wedding and have him come home to it, but there was a sale! I am such a sucker for a sale, whether I am using my own money or someone elses, they get me every time! I saw that the TV I thought he wanted and it was $400 cheaper for the 4th of July sale.  Now who could pass up saving $400 smackaroos? I know I can't and I knew Bruce wouldn't want me too.  And truth be told I wanted to have him come pick the perfect one out because all that TV mumbo-jumbo confuses me! So I took him to CO Springs and we got him his dream TV.  I explained that this was his wedding gift (i have something small for him on the day of too:)  and he was more than excited! He deserves this and I'm glad he finally could have it!

Also we decided we LOVE getting the mail these days! We live in a pretty small town now and most of the time while I am in Denver I don't have time to go shopping, so a lot of the little extras for the wedding we have just been ordering online.  We also are getting our RSVP's back! So having "treats" (as we like to call them) and RSVP's coming, getting the mail is SO MUCH FUN! No longer do we dread bills or random annoying junk mail, but we immediately look for fun stuff that comes more often than not! YAY!

Well we hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Love,
Nichole & Bruce xo

Happy Birthday America! :)

Sorry we haven't been blogging lately, we have had too much fun in the sun to be on the computer long enough to blog! But here we are!! :)

So this weekend was very productive one for the wedding. We have been receiving lots and lots and lots of RSVP cards and are getting a good jump start on things and numbers! We have designed our programs on vistaprint.com and are just waiting to press the "order" button when we get the go ahead approval from the church! YAY! We also designed the rehearsal dinner invites from vistprint.com and will order them along with the programs to save on shipping! I am not usually one to just order off a website, I like to try and make everything myself to be creative (I'm learning slowly but surely) and save money, but decided after all of the DYI's (do it yourself) projects I have successfully completed for the wedding, to cut myself a break! And not to mention ALL the time and effort that was put into the invitations wore me right out! So it'll be nice to just receive them in the mail and not have to worry about having to do anything else! And I of course searched around for a good coupon, and paired with their already great prices I got these dirt cheap! I order a sample and I am very happy with the quality! So all in all a great find and decided not to be so hard on myself! :)

I had an extra day off work so I was able to get a lot of workouts in, which is good beings tho I desperately need to loose some LBS's for the wedding! I was also able to get a good cleaning in and allow us more time to spend carefree! I love when grown up things like cleaning and laundry don't interfere with our fun time! haha ;)

So today we had a great great day! We started the day off by having lunch at one of our favorite restaurants in our new town! Then we headed to Home Depot to get more flowers.  We needed to replenish our flower pots with flowers that were.....ummmmmm...ALIVE! I will not mention who forgot to water the flowers haha ;) and with the intense intense sun out here they were as dead as a door knob by Thursday when I returned home! So we planted and re-potted all the new flowers, that were thankfully on sale. The outside of our house is now back to looking great again!

Then we packed up water bottles filled with ice cold water, blankets, chairs, and some toys for pudge and headed into Canon City to the park early to ensure we had a place to see the fireworks.  We got there 3 hours early! haha we let Pudge play in the water and when it started to cool off we were able to play with his Frisbee and he had a blast! Bruce and I relaxed on the blanket and played skipbo! We were in the park to the back and were practically all by ourselves! We LOVED this because we were able to have pudge off leash and do as we please! Spread out and relax! We couldn't figure out why people would cram into the front park instead of spreading out....hmmmmmmm....but better for us tho!  We got some ice cream, even Pudge got a kiddie vanilla cone, which he thoroughly enjoyed (ice cream is his fav)! But the fireworks were not impressive, there wasn't even a finale! But we found out about 20 minutes after leaving that the fire works were put on hold due to a small fire that had started at the ignition site.  So we take it back and look forward to seeing next years and being completely impressed!

All in all a wonderful couple of days!

Happy Fourth of July everyone!!!

Love,
Nic and Bruce xoxo
